DAY 1
07:30 – 09:00 Pick-up Service
This tour can be joined from various meeting points mainly located
at major hotels throughout Tokyo.
09:00 Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal (120 min)
Depart Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal and head to Mt. Fuji by bus.
(Chuo Expressway or Tomei Expressway)
Fuji Visitor Center (20 min)
Learn about the historic eruptions, nature, and culture surrounding
Japan’s most iconic mountain, Mt. Fuji.
There are many videos and panel displays to interact with and enjoy!
Remarks: If Fuji Visitor Center is closed or the tour is behind schedule due to traffic,
Fuji Visitor Center may be omitted from the itinerary.
Mt. Fuji 5th Station (30 min)
Start the ascent up Mt. Fuji via the Fuji Subaru Line. Climb 2,300 meters (7,546 ft)
above sea level for breathtaking views from above the clouds.
Remarks: The tour will not be cancelled or refunded even if Mt. Fuji is not fully visible
due to weather conditions.
Lunch (Japanese-style)
Enjoy a Japanese-style lunch.
Lake Ashi Cruise (15 min)
Go for a sightseeing cruise on Lake Ashi. The crater lake was born
from a powerful volcanic eruption nearly 3,000 years ago and provides postcard views of
Mt. Fuji from various angles.
Mt. Komagatake Ropeway (50 min)
Spend a total of 50 minutes including a 7-minute cableway ride up to the peak from Hakone-en.
Remarks: Hakone Komagatake Ropeway may be omitted from the itinerary due to heavy traffic.
The tour will not be cancelled or refunded in such cases.

Take a cableway ride up to the spiritual Hakone Shrine Mototsumiya
(original shrine) that nestles at the mountaintop.

DAY 2

Go to Odawara Station by taxi or bus
From Odawara Station to Nagoya Station (140 min)
Head to Nagoya via the Kodama Shinkansen
Remarks: A JTB representative will take you to your designated train,
but will not board the train with you.
From Nagoya Station to Takayama Station (150 min)
A guide will be waiting at Nagoya Station.

Sightseeing around Takayama City on foot
Yatai Kaikan (Takayama Festival Floats Exhibition Hall) (30 min)
This popular facility displays some of the colorfully decorated festival floats
used in the famous Takayama Festival.
Kusakabe Heritage House *The tour departing on January 7, 2015 will visit
Yoshijima Heritage House instead. (20 min)
Enjoy a visit to this historical Japanese-style townhouse and view a range of
exquisite folk art and traditional handicrafts.
Kami-Sannomachi (30 min)
Located in Takayama’s old quarter, this street is lined with Edo period buildings,
and provides visitors a glimpse into the past.

DAY 3

Takayama Morning Market (30 min)
Spend some time sightseeing around the Takayama Morning Market.
From Takayama to Shirakawa-go (50 min)
Take the expressway bus from Takayama Station to Shirakawa-go
Shirakawa-go Observatory Deck
Enjoy an elevated view of the World Heritage-registered thatch-roofed village of Shirakawa-go.
Great for photography!
Wada Residence (traditional thatch-roofed farmhouse)
Visit a World Heritage-registered thatch-roofed farmhouse
and experience the history and culture of the local area.
Remarks: If Wada Residence is closed due to heavy snowfall or other operational concerns,
Nagase Residence or Myozenji Temple will be visited instead.
From Shirakawa-go to Kanazawa (75 min)
Take the expressway bus from Shirakawa-go to Kanazawa

DAY 4

Kenroku-en Garden (60 min)
This beautiful garden is considered one of the top three Japanese gardens
and offers amazing seasonal views all year round.
Kutaniyaki Pottery Kiln (30 min)
Visit a kiln where a traditional kind of Japanese pottery from this region is produced.
Pottery can be purchased on site.
Former Samurai Residence (Nomura Residence) (30 min)
Visit a former samurai residence and see some beautiful traditional Japanese gardens.
Omicho Market Enjoy lunch on your won at the Omicho Market

Try some delicious sushi and seafood dishes at Kanazawa’s most lively fish market.
13:00 – 14:00 Arrive at Kanazawa Station
Remarks: A guide will take you to your designated train, but will not board the train with you.
From Kanazawa Station to Kyoto Station (145 min)
Take the JR limited express train to Kyoto
16:30 – 18:00 Drop-off Service
A taxi drop-off service is available to most major hotels in Kyoto City
1. This is a special tour for international visitors.
Please understand that residents of Japan cannot make bookings for this tour.
2. On Day 2, large baggage such as suitcases will be transported from Yumoto Fujiya Hotel
to hotels in Kyoto City by truck. Note that large baggage will not be taken to hotels
in Takayama or Kanazawa. Please bring an overnight bag packed for 2 nights.
(One article of standard size luggage per customer will be transported free of charge.
Any additional items will incur a fee of JPY 2,200 per article, which will need to be paid
on the morning of departure at Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal.)
3. If the minimum number of participants (1) is not met by 20 days before a scheduled date, the tour on the date may be cancelled.
About the Day-1 Itinerary:
1. GPS-equipped audio guides are available in Chinese and Spanish on the bus.
Please make a request when booking if you would like an audio guide.
There are a limited number of audio guides available, so it may not be possible
to provide one for each participant.
2. Hakone Komaga-take Ropeway may be omitted from the itinerary due to heavy traffic.
The tour will not be cancelled or refunded in such cases.
3. If Fuji Visitor Center is closed or the tour is behind schedule due to traffic delays,
Fuji Visitor Center may be omitted from the itinerary.
4. If the Fuji Subaru Line to Mt. Fuji's 5th Station is closed due to icy roads,
the tour will be taken as high as possible.
5. Mt. Fuji's 5th station is typically 10 to 15 degrees Celsius colder than Tokyo.
Please bring a coat and other warm clothing on tours from autumn to spring.
6. The tour will not be cancelled or refunded even if Mt. Fuji is not fully visible
due to weather conditions.
7. Lake Ashi Cruise and/or Hakone Komaga-take Ropeway may be omitted from the itinerary,
depending on traffic, weather conditions, or other operational concerns.
If either or both are omitted the following alternatives may be used:
Hakone-en Aquarium, Hakone Ropeway, Owakudani valley, Hakone Sightseeing Cruise (pirate ship),
Narukawa Art Museum, Hakone Sekisho (checking station) remains, Lake Kawaguchi Cruise,
Lake Kawaguchi Ropeway, or Itchiku Kubota Art Museum.
The tour will not be cancelled or refunded for such itinerary changes.
The interpreter guide will decide on the alternate location.
8. Please make a request at the time of booking if you would like a vegetarian meal.
9. Participants who purchase the breakfast plan will be required to pay an additional fee of
JPY 500 for each child aged between 3 to 5 years at Yumoto Fujiya Hotel.
This fee will be charged regardless of whether or not breakfast is consumed,
and will need to be paid directly to the hotel on the day.
About the itinerary from Day-2:
1. As the tour requires a lot of walking, please participate in comfortable clothes and shoes.
If you are planning to attend this tour during the winter months (October to February),
please bring a coat or other warm clothing.
2. Depending on traffic, weather, or other operational concerns, a highway bus
or private chartered bus may be used for transportation between Nagoya and Takayama,
and a private bus may be used for transportation between Takayama and Kanazawa.
3. Kusakabe Heritage House and/or Kami Sannomachi may be visited on Day-3 instead of Day-2.
4. The tour will use a public expressway bus on Day-3 to transfer between Takayama
and Kanazawa. The tour will also use public transportation on Day- 4.
5. If Wada Residence is closed due to heavy snowfall or other operational concerns,
Nagase Residence or Myozenji Temple will be visited instead.
