第４回沖縄青少年プログラム

単なる観光で終わることのない、土地、社会、そして人（特に同世代）との関わりを重要視した内容にし、同世代の交流に重きをおいた青少年（特に高校生）の将来に発展のある機会を与えることを一番の目的としております。感受性豊かな年齢層を対象とする為、日本国内外でも人気の沖縄県を舞台に地元の高校に体験入学やホームステイプログラムを加え、文化を学び、同世代と交流をします。また伝統と近代を代表とする京都・東京にも訪れ、様々な角度から日本全体に対して理解を深めるプログラムになっております。参加者が日・米における架け橋の一役として将来に役立つプログラムになることを期待しております。

Our ultimate goal of this Summer Camp is to give students, especially in the high school level, a chance to interact with their peers in Japan, and to understand and appreciate each others culture.This program is far from being an ordinary sightseeing tour. This is our first attempt to help develop relationship between the students of the two worlds. If we can give an opportunity for the American students to learn about the locality, society, history and goodness of Japan, we may help our future generation develop a better understanding about another country and culture.

アメリカ合衆国と沖縄県の高校生が交流する「沖縄青少年交流プログラム」が今年も沖縄で実施されることをうれしく思います。沖縄県は、亜熱帯・海洋性気候の豊かな自然や特色ある芸能・文化に溢れ、多くの観光客を魅了する国内有数の観光リゾート地であります。また、歴史的にアメリカ合衆国との繋がりが大変強く、交流プログラムにふさわしい所であると考えております。皆さんには、体験入学やホームステイを通じて沖縄の高校生との交流を深めつつ、沖縄の歴史、文化、風土に触れていただき、交流の架け橋となってもらえるよう希望いたします。この沖縄青少年交流プログラムが将来にわたって実のり多いものとなるように期待しています。

It is my pleasure and joy to have the students of Okinawa and United　States of America to deepen their interchange through Okinawa Youth Exchange Program this year, continued from last year. Based on the subtropics/ Oceanic climate, Okinawa is the primary tourist resort destination in Japan, fascinating tourist with our unique　and characteristic entertainment, culture and warm people which is a treasure we can be proud to the world. We are also the best destination for student's study program and host 430,000 students annually, known for our peace study and experimental courses. I hope this Youth Exchange Program would be a great opportunity to　enjoy Okinawa's nature and culture, and also make wonderful memories and many friends by experiencing our high school life and homestay program. 国際交流事業の１つである「沖縄青少年交流プログラム」が、今年で第4回目を迎えることとなりました。1週間という短期間ではありますが、今年も皆さんをお迎えできることを興南学園一同、心より楽しみにしております。来日する学生の皆様には興南学園での体験入学と沖縄の家庭でのホームステイを通して沖縄および日本の文化や習慣を体験し、多くの友達を作り友情を深めていただきたいとおもいます。異なった国で生まれ育ち、価値観も違う日米のティーンエイジャーが直接対話し、生活を共にして初めて気付く共通点やお互いを理解しようとする行動は将来グローバルな視野と考え方を持つ人材育成のきっかけとなることを信じています。

The 4th Annual Okina Youth Exchange Program will be coming up this summer. We are very excited to welcome you all, even though your stay will only be one week. I hope you will learn not only Okinawan/Japanese culture but also build a great friendships with the local people through your home-stay and school life experiences. I believe this program can provide such a great opportunity to interact with students from the same generation who have grown up in different countries and have different thoughts, which will increase global exposure and further educate our youth.

高校生 : 沖縄青少年交流プログラムは、日本での現地高校体験入学やホームステイなどを通じて、友情、交流、文化そして相互理解を深められるよう、この旅で感じてもらいたいと考えております。そして日系の方々にとっては、子供達が自分たちのルーツを知る良いきっかけにもなるはずです。

High School Student : One of our biggest goal of this program is for you to feel that friendship, a cultural exchange, and mutual understanding are deepened through the experience such as the local high school life and the homestay, etc. in Japan. The Okinawa youth exchange program would also gives you a great motivation for the children who learn their roots for the people of the Japanese.
