Tokyo Tower (40 min)
Get a spectacular view of Metropolitan Tokyo from the observation deck

Imperial Palace Plaza (10 min)
Admire the view of Nijubashi Bridge and the surrounding scenery at this National Garden that was formerly a private garden of the Royal Family

Asakusa Kannon & Shopping at Nakamise (40 min)
Of the 33 temples in Eastern Japan dedicated to the Goddess Kannon, this is the only one in the capital (No. 13 on the pilgrimage to all 33 temples). Visit this historic area which includes Nakamise-dori, the street leading to the temple.

Akihabara via Ueno (drive by)
Enjoy a pleasant drive through Ueno, where Tokyo’s first coffee shop once stood, to Akihabara which is home to the famous Electric Town.

Participants who wish may get off the bus at Akihabara. All other participants will get a view of Akihabara from the windows and continue to Tokyo Station by bus.

Kotoku-in Temple and the Great Buddha (30 min)
View the 13.35 m (44 ft) tall, 121 ton symbol of Kamakura. Unlike the Great Buddha of Nara, this Buddha is placed directly outdoors, and the inside of the statue can be accessed for a small additional fee.

Hase Temple (40 min)
Visit a 1200 year old temple reflecting the beauty of the seasons with over 700 Chinese peonies that bloom in the spring, and rows of maple trees that turn a vibrant red in autumn.

Sankeien Garden (60 min)
Stroll through a massive 43 acre garden featuring trees, ponds, steams, and historical structures, with 10 designated as Important Cultural Properties by the Japanese government and 3 designated as Tangible Cultural Properties by Yokohama City. Tour the interior of a traditional thatched roof minka house.

Yokohama Chinatown (30 min)
Walk through the largest Chinatown in Japan.

09:00 Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal (120 min)
Depart Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal and head to Mt. Fuji by bus. This tour follows the same itinerary as the 1-Day Mt. Fuji & Hakone Tour.
(Chuo Expressway, or Tomei Expressway).

Fuji Visitor Center (20 min)
Learn about the historic eruptions, nature, and culture surrounding Japan’s most iconic mountain, Mt. Fuji. There are many videos and panel displays to interact with and enjoy!
Remarks: If Fuji Visitor Center is closed or the tour is behind schedule due to traffic, Fuji Visitor Center may be omitted from the itinerary.

Mt. Fuji 5th Station (30 min)
Start the ascent up Mt. Fuji via the Fuji Subaru Line. Climb 2,300 meters (7,546 ft) above sea level for breathtaking views from above the clouds.
Remarks: The tour will not be cancelled or refunded even if Mt. Fuji is not fully visible due to weather conditions.

Enjoy a Japanese-style lunch.

Lake Ashi Cruise (15 min)
Go for a sightseeing cruise on Lake Ashi. The crater lake was born from a powerful volcanic eruption nearly 3,000 years ago and provides postcard views of Mt. Fuji from various angles.
Remarks: Lake Ashi Cruise and/or Hakone Komaga-take Ropeway may be omitted from the itinerary, depending on traffic, weather conditions, or other operational concerns. If either or both are omitted the following alternatives may be used: Hakone-en Aquarium, Hakone Ropeway, Owakudani valley, Hakone Sightseeing Cruise (pirate ship), Narukawa Art Museum, Hakone Sekisho (checking station) remains, Lake Kawaguchi Cruise, Lake Kawaguchi Ropeway, or Itchiku Kubota Art Museum. The tour will not be cancelled or refunded for such itinerary changes. The interpreter guide will decide on the alternate location.

Mt. Komagatake Ropeway (50 min)
Spend a total of 50 minutes including a 7-minute cableway ride up to the peak from Hakone-en.
Remarks: Hakone Komagatake Ropeway may be omitted from the itinerary due to heavy traffic. The tour will not be cancelled or refunded in such cases.

Take a cableway ride up to the spiritual Hakone Shrine Mototsumiya (original shrine) that nestles at the mountaintop.

Take a non-reserved Kodama or Hikari Shinkansen. Note that seating is not guaranteed if the train is crowded.

Nara Park & Todai-ji Temple (Great Buddha) (60 min)
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this is the symbol of the Nara Period and one of the world’s largest wooden structure. Its huge main hall and bronze Great Buddha are impressive to behold.

Kasuga Taisha Shrine (40 min)
This Nara Period shrine is designated as a World Heritage Site. The deer of Nara Park are thought to be the shrine messengers.
Remarks: The tour will not enter areas requiring admission.

Nara Nagomikan (20 min)
The largest souvenir shop in Nara. Enjoy yourself in this spacious shop and look for the perfect souvenir.
Remarks: This location may be omitted from the itinerary due to business hours or traffic congestion.

18:30 – 19:30 Hotels in Kyoto City
Remarks: During the Gion Festival (July 14 – 16), drop-off service to Karasuma Kyoto Hotel, Hotel Nikko Princess Kyoto, and Hotel Monterey Kyoto will be unavailable due to traffic restrictions.

DAY 6

Nijo Castle (50 min)
A UNESCO World Heritage Site. Tour the historical castle completed in 1626, which was built to provide lodging for Tokugawa Shogun and as a palladium for Kyoto Imperial Palace.
Remarks: Nijo Castle is closed on Tuesdays (or Wednesday if Tuesday is a national holiday) in January, July, August, and December and over the New Year’s holidays. On these days, the tour will visit Ryoan-ji Temple.

Kinkaku-ji Temple (45 min)
Visit this World Heritage Site, also known as the Golden Pavilion. The wooden architecture is covered in thin layers of pure gold and is surrounded by a beautiful lake.

Kyoto Imperial Palace (from Mondays to Fridays) (40 min)
Entry of international visitors generally require application in advance, but participants of this tour can enter only by going through a brief procedure.
Remarks: On Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays, Kyoto Imperial Palace is closed. On these days, the tour will visit Kitano Tenmangu Shrine instead. The same is true of the period before and after the public viewing of Kyoto Imperial Palace in spring and autumn, May 14 – 17 due to the Aoi Festival, year-end New Year’s holidays, and whenever there is an Imperial Household event.

Kitano Tenmangu Shrine (Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays) (40 min)
Kitano Tenmangu Shrine is the substitute for Kyoto Imperial Palace on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. This shrine’s main hall is a designated national treasure and is famous for housing the God of scholarship. The shrine is especially great to see during the plum blossom and autumn leaf seasons.
Remarks: On Jan. 25, Apr. 25, Jul. 25 and Oct. 25, Nishi Hongan-ji Temple will be visited instead of Kitano Tenmangu Shrine.

Lunch (50 min)
A vegetarian menu is also available. Please make a request when making your booking if you would like the vegetarian menu.

Heian Jingu Shrine (25 min)
Don’t miss the characteristic red architecture of this beautiful shrine built to celebrate the 1101 year anniversary of the founding of the city of Kyoto.
Remarks: This tour will not enter Heian Jingu Shrine’s Shin-en garden.
During the Jidai Festival on October 22, Heian Jingu Shrine is closed to the public and will be replaced in the itinerary by Chishaku-in Temple. If the Jidai Festival is postponed, the itinerary change will still be implemented on the postponed festival date.

Sanjusangen-do Temple (30 min)
Visit the world’s longest wooden structure, housing 1,001 life-size statues of Buddhist Kannon deities dating back to the 13th century.

Kiyomizu-dera Temple (70 min)
The view of Kyoto from the World Heritage Site of Kiyomizu-dera is superb. The historic shopping lane that leads to the temple adds to a wonderful experience.

Itsukushima Shrine is a World Heritage Site. Established in the 6th century it is famous for its beautiful Shinden-zukuri style structure (architecture representative of a nobles’ residence in the Heian period). See the vermillion shrine sitting in a lush environment facing the deep blue sea and enjoy the picturesque beauty.

Take the bus to Peace Memorial Park

Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park & Museum (100 min)
This large-scale park was established in 1949 after the Pacific War ended, and is visited by countless visitors as a symbol of peace. The museum within the park is an Important Cultural Property of Japan, and was built to remind future generations of the terror wrought by atomic bombs.

Atomic Bomb Dome
The Atomic Bomb Dome is a symbol of the disastrous atomic bombing during WWII, the first atomic bombs used in human history, and has been preserved as it was to promote peace and elimination of atomic weapons around the world.

Pricing Notes

4. If the minimum number of participants is not met by 20 days before the scheduled date, the tour on that date may be cancelled.

Kamakura & Yokohama Tour
1. Locations indicated on the itinerary may be changed due to traffic, operation hours, or other reasons. However, the tour will not be cancelled or refunded even in such cases. The following are possible substitutes: Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, Kenchoji Temple, Kamakuragu Treasure Hall, Yokohama Marine Tower, Yamashita Park, or Sky Garden of the Landmark Tower Yokohama.
2. Itinerary order is subject to change depending on traffic, weather, and operation hours.
3. Note arrival times may be delayed due to traffic conditions as this tour will travel by bus.
4. If there are more than 15 participants, the guide may hand out earphone guides in order to guide everyone more efficiently.
5. A fee of JPY 10,000 may be incurred if an earphone guide is lost or damaged.

Day 4-8
1. Large baggage such as suitcases will be transported from Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal to hotels in Kyoto by truck. (One article of standard size luggage per customer will be transported free of charge. Any additional items will incur a fee of JPY 2,200 per article, which will need to be paid on the day.) Your baggage will be delivered to Kyoto on the day after it has been sent. However, we will be unable to guarantee the arrival time of goods.
2. Transport to Kyoto on Day 5 will be provided from Odawara Station to Kyoto Station via Shin-Yokohama Station. On the trip from Odawara to Shin-Yokohama the tour will use Kodama or Hikari Shinkansen in the non-reserved section, so seating is not guaranteed.
3. Note that the location for lunch and the lunch menu for day-5 may change in summer.

Mt. Fuji & Hakone Tour
1. GPS-equipped audio guides are available in Chinese and Spanish on the bus. Please make a request when booking if you would like an audio guide. There are a limited number of audio guides available, so it may not be possible to provide one for each participant.
2. Hakone Komaga-take Ropeway may be omitted from the itinerary due to heavy traffic. The tour will not be cancelled or refunded in such cases.
3. If Fuji Visitor Center is closed or the tour is behind schedule due to traffic delays, Fuji Visitor Center may be omitted from the itinerary.
4. If the Fuji Subaru Line to Mt. Fuji's 5th Station is closed due to icy roads, the tour will be taken as high as possible.
5. Mt. Fuji's 5th station is typically 10 to 15 degrees Celsius colder than Tokyo. Please bring a coat and other warm clothing on tours from autumn to spring.
6. The tour will not be cancelled or refunded even if Mt. Fuji is not fully visible due to weather conditions.
7. Lake Ashi Cruise and/or Hakone Komaga-take Ropeway may be omitted from the itinerary, depending on traffic, weather conditions, or other operational concerns. 2. During the Gion Festival (July 15 - 16), drop-off service to Karasuma Kyoto Hotel, Hotel Nikko Princess Kyoto, and Hotel Monterey Kyoto will be unavailable due to traffic restrictions.
3. The tour may not visit Nara Nagomikan if it is closed or due to traffic conditions.
4. Connection to the Kyoto Night Tour or Kyoto Maiko Tour is not possible.

Kyoto 1-Day Tour
1. On Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays, Kyoto Imperial Palace is closed. On these days, the tour will visit Kitano-tenmangu Shrine. The same is true of the period before and after the public viewing of Kyoto Imperial Palace in spring and autumn, May 14 - 17 due to the Aoi Festival, New Year's holidays, and whenever there is an Imperial Household event.
2. Please note that before entering the Kyoto Imperial Palace you will be required to fill out a form with your personal information such as your full name, sex, age, and nationality. (The form will be provided on the tour day.)
3. On Sep.25 and Oct. 25, Nishi Hongan-ji Temple will serve as the alternative for Kitano Tenmangu Shrine.
4. On Tuesdays (Wednesday if Tuesday is a national holiday) in January, July, August, and December, Nijo Castle is closed. The tour will visit Ryoan-ji Temple instead.
