IMPORTANT NOTICE: This tour visits scenic places that are very popular with Japanese tourists during fall (late Oct. – early Nov.) and spring (late Apr. – early May). On weekends and national holidays at these times, traffic can get extremely heavy and alterations to the itinerary are likely (see Remarks). As such, we highly recommend AVOIDING weekends and holidays during these seasons and joining on weekdays when typically fewer domestic tourists are visiting. Please note that traffic and other circumstances may cause changes to the itinerary on weekdays as well.

Depart Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal to visit the following by bus:
Nikko Toshogu Shrine (100 min)
Tour the UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its lavish decorations, ornate details, and five structures categorized as National Treasures of Japan, and an additional three categorized as Important Cultural Properties. This shrine houses the remains of Edo period’s founder, Ieyasu Tokugawa.
Remarks: Yomei-mon Gate may not be seen entirely or partially due to repair work.
Nikko Tamozawa Imperial Villa (60 min)
View refined architecture that spans the three different periods of Edo, Meiji, and Taisho. Former Emperors and royal family have used this villa as their residence, which is now the only remaining Imperial residence of the Meiji era.
Remarks: When Nikko Tamozawa Imperial Villa is closed (Tuesdays and specific days), the tour will visit the Treasure House and the Shoyo-en Garden of Rinno-ji Temple instead. When the Treasure House and Shoyo-en Garden are also closed, the tour will visit the Treasure House of Nikko Tosho-gu Shrine instead.
Kirifuri Falls (30 min)
Climb to an observatory deck located directly in front of one of Nikko’s three famous waterfalls, from which the waterfall’s entire 75m (264 ft) can be viewed at a glance.
